The Southern California Independent Booksellers Association has named its finalists for the 2009 SCIBA Book Awards, and I’m one of them!

I’m one of three finalists for the non-fiction category. Boo-yah! The winners will be announced Oct. 24.

Well-deserved recognition. It is a great read, regardless of one’s view on religion.

    Congrats on your nomination.

Read “booyah” exclamation and immediately it was “chicken booyah” (chicken stew) from my child hood in northeastern Wisconsin. Things change. No longer chicken stew, it is according to a website (my summary definition) — living a happy life to the fullest.

I am a pastor of a church and recently read your book, “Losing My Religion”. I was captivated by it; so much so I used it as the basis of my message a week ago. If you are interested, here is the link http://riveroaks.org/media.php?section=&page=&file=20090823-1.mp3
