Modesty forbids me to tell you that I’ve received Orange Coast magazine’s “Great Summer Read” award, part of its “Best of” edition for “Losing My Religion: How I Lost My Faith Reporting on Religion in American — and Found Unexpected Peace.”

I’m not surprised. It was a fantastic read.

I’d love some recommendations of other books that deal with the Catholic Priest Scandal if you know of any.

    Congratulations!

Just downloaded it for my Kindle. Thanks for putting the Kindle edition out there. I enjoy your blog.

I am a field grade officer in the active duty Army and traveled the road away from God alone, unable to express my loss of faith in an environment that is strongly influenced and biased by religion (most significantly by Christianity). Your story cuts to the core my struggle and I thank you for showing me that I am not the only one who has made this painful journey. If you are still interested in writing about religion, take a look at it in the military context. You will find that there are atheists in foxholes and a repressed (but growing) minority of religiously disillusioned Soldier in the ranks.
