I’ve become a huge fan of The Freethinker, the Brighton, England-based atheist website whose roots go back to 1881. Whether or not you’re a believer, editor Barry Duke provides thought-provoking blog posts about religion news from around the world.

Recent posts, well-written and researched, include ‘Lying’ Holocaust denier is embraced by the Vatican, Fundie frauds are feeling the pinch, and Good news and bad on ‘blasphemy’. For faith-based folks, the website will challenge you and underscore where religion falls short. For others, it will give you more evidence that religion is a man-made fallacy–while giving you a couple of smiles.

    lol

Being a website based in England I have to read the expletive-laced comments with a British accent and for some reason I find it funny when British people curse. :)

As if I am seeing Michael Palin and John Cleese arguing with each other regarding a dead parrot.

Owner: No no he’s not dead, he’s, he’s restin’! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn’it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Mr. Praline: The plumage don’t enter into it. It’s stone dead.

Anyone else see the humor in that website?

You mean for religious-based folks, the website will challenge you and underscore where religion falls short.
Because it does nothing to challenge my faith. After all Jesus teaches us not to depend on religion for the same reasons that you have pointed out!
