I’m finishing the last major leg of my book tour for “Losing My Religion: How I Lost My Faith Reporting on Religion in America–and Found Unexpected Peace.” In no particular order, here are some highlights:
- Speaking to a packed Community Bible Church in San Diego. Tons of energy and great discussion.
- Having a SRO crowd at an independent bookstore in Raleigh, North Carolina — the heart of the Bible belt.
- Visiting Gettysburg between East Coast gigs.
- Talking to an overflow crowd at the University of Missouri’s Columbia School of Journalism.
- Seeing Niagara Falls.
- Talking with survivors of clergy sexual abuse from around the country.
- Meeting a handful of people who challenged church authorities and stood up for what’s right — despite deep personal sacrifice.
- Sitting 12 rows behind home plate at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
- Signing hundreds of books — it never gets old.
More later. I’ve got a plane to catch.
