Hi Bill,
Just finished reading your book - a great read, and your experience is one I can relate to much more than Dawkins or Hitchens, though I love their writing as well. I went to this article at Freethinker and then read the comments left there. There was one guy called Fred who left several - what did you think of what he wrote? In a way he could have said the same things about me - I’ve been terribly confused and non-committal about this weighty subject most of my adult life. I just don’t know…these religious crazies have nothing going for them, and yet there is always the Fear Factor - what may happen to you when you die. Eternity is a long time; if there is anything we go on to I’d like to think that a life lived with honesty and integrity would be better rewarded than a fear-based “I believe! I believe!” muttered somewhere along the way.
I look forward to meeting you up here in Seattle at the convention in November!
