This can’t be Constitutional

The New Atheist talks about the proposal in Florida to allow religious-themed license plates. Two thoughts:

1. Government shouldn’t be involved in promoting anything religious.

2. There are more productive ways for Christians to promote their faith — like acting out the Gospel.

    If this was just allowing them (i.e. allowing people to make custom ones of their own choice, including religious images) then I don’t think I’d have a problem. But having followed the link, it’s definitely a bit weird that they don’t offer any other ones for other religions.

    I guess you could argue it on the basis of knowing your market… if the vast majority of people of religious persuasion are Christian. But of course that may not be true…

    Also yes, probably best to spend time actually living like Jesus rather than displaying (unhelpfully cartoon-like) images of Jesus on your number plate.
